I'm a pack a day Camel Lights Smoker, age 20. I decided "Hey! I'm 20, I should be able to breathe when I wake up!" was a good enough reason and my set date was yesterday. Heres how it went.

Day 1:

Stayed Home all day, smoked 2 cigarettes total, no mood swings or anything

Day 2: Went to work smoked 3 cigarettes total. Almost committed double homicide, and hari-kari. Went off on one of my managers (who deserved it) and she changed her tune. Yes, that worked! I'm more assertive! Found out I'm a total bitch when not pumped with nicotine. I didn't smoke at all when driving (a plus).

Let's hope I can make it!

So, I kind of just stopped posting. Just like I suppose I stopped KOLing. I'm never home to have the time to do so. Oh well, I may start again when I have the time. But in the time I have vanished I have done things, learned things and well, my life has gone on, slow and steady.

Things I've done:

~ Survived another Christmas in Retail.

~ Become addicted to all things Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French.

~ Especially Ab Fab.

~ Had a Quit Smoking! Date set for me by my boss. (8 more days!)

~ Met a Gazillion people who names I do not know through all the social circles I have penetrated in five months.

Things I Have Learned:

~ That after watching your Grandmother (and best friend)and Grandfather bury their first born son, almost all other "problems" become petty, futile, and just a bunch of nonsense.

~ Note: Some people just fucking get worked up over the most fucking idiotic shit. Pull your head out of your ass and go fuck yourself, and if you must, do find some bigger fish to fry. 99% of what I hear coming out of people's mouths everyday doesn't matter. Make it matter.
In the words of Edina Monsoon: "It may not all be great and good, but you know, it ain't that bad so come on, cheer up, it may never bloody happen."

~ The Brits just do it better.

~ We just exist in our own private universes. Most don't learn how to co-exist and respect the universes of others.

~ I know beautiful people who don't know it.

~ You are only complete if you let yourself be.

I havn't posted in a good month now. Hmmm. I don't know if there much to say.

I'm a supervisor at the local super k-mart. After a month. Safe to say all the lifers despise me and don't listen to me. But its money.

I saw Imogen Heap on November 15th in Norfolk. She rocked my socks. She 100% exceeeded my expectations.

Speaking of concerts, it looks like Tori and Polly Jean next year, so yay! and 2008 or 2009 for Sonic Youth, then I can die happy.

Don't have much else to say, its been a slow month.

I am now a student at James Madison University!

Well, I will be next fall, but yes! I have a future!

I finished the Sandman series today...


and I feel empty...odd...I dunno....I can honestly write that the Sandman is much more then a comic, it is literature. I wish more comic titles would strive to be...more like this. Not trite, not the same story over and over again. X-men really got old for me about a year ago, simply because I couldn't follow it anymore. You needed to buy 12 issues, each from a seperate series, to figure out why Rogue suddenly likes chocolate cake.
I'll just stick with Ultimate, for now it doesn't overlap with 50 different titles...until it starts to drop in sales.

Lets see, what else. I have sworn off depressing books for a bit....and got reprimanded by Jez for picking up the Bell Jar for a much needed re-reading last night. I was like oh yeah...It is depressing. La la.

And I thought the insanity defense only worked if the criminal was not aware of their actions....I recall reading an article that stated Ms. Yates began to cry when they begin to recant how they found her children. No no, those were not tears of remorse...she must of stubbed her toe.


Again, I restate, if this was a man, there would have been no re-trial. How sad.

I was in Omaha when this tragic event occurred two years ago. It actually happened at the high school my mom graduated from. The victim, Chastity Wright, had been bullied by Gray and her cronies all year simply because they could bully her. I remember the story well because it terrified me of the sheer cruelty of teenagers.

The article is brief and rather non-informative, but if I remember correctly all of them were attending Summer School and Gray and two other girls jumped Chastity as Burger King on lunch break. They didn't just tousle her up, they pummeled her, and there was a knife involved. I remember this distinctly because there was about a four day debate of what her exact cause of death was. The girls even admitted that Chastity did nothing to provoke them, they just didn't like her. And Chastity had to pay with her life in her freshmen year because she wasn't liked by three girls. And what do they pay? Gray gets 5 years of probation. There is no mention of her cronies. Absolutely unacceptable. The City of Omaha should be outraged that these girls are able to scrape by for killing one of their peers. All three of them should have gotten the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. In fact, I think 20 years is rather light for what they have committed. Gray gets to walk free, but just have a close eye on her for five years. This sends the wrong message to the country of what we do in this country about violence in schools. This is an absolute abomination of Justice.
